When you start the grill you only need to open the valve slightly. By not turning the valve all the way to the open position you will save on the usage of the gas. Turning the gas tank and burners off when you’re done grilling will also help to not waste gas.
If you prefer good old fashioned charcoal grills, then be sure to store your open or unopened bags of charcoal in a secure container to make sure it doesn’t not get wet, perhaps a small garbage can. For less mess, line the bottom of the grill with some aluminum foil to help with clean up and disposal.
